It Only Takes One:
We often think that the world is changed by massive movements, powerful platforms, or public figures with worldwide reach. But the truth is, most of the world’s spiritual awakenings began not with crowds—but with one person.
It only takes one.
One person sharing their faith. One kind word. One prayer. One life changed by Jesus, who then reaches others.
Think of Andrew in the Bible. He wasn’t one of the more prominent disciples like Peter or John. He didn’t write any books of the New Testament. But what Andrew did do changed the world—he brought his brother Peter to Jesus (John 1:40–42). And Peter, as we know, became a pillar of the early church, preaching at Pentecost where thousands were saved.
Behind every great movement of God is someone like Andrew—an “ordinary” believer who chose to reach one.
Sometimes we hesitate to share our faith because we can’t reach everyone. But Jesus never asked us to reach everyone at once. He asked us to reach someone. And from that one, the Gospel often spreads far beyond what we can imagine.
The Samaritan woman at the well met Jesus alone (John 4). Her life was transformed in a single conversation. Then she ran into her town, telling everyone, “Come see a man who told me everything I ever did!” Because of her, an entire village believed in Jesus.
Never underestimate what God can do with one willing voice.
You may not preach from a pulpit. You may not have a massive online following. But you know people no one else knows. You walk through neighborhoods and sit in break rooms and ride elevators with souls that someone else might never meet. And when you reach that one, the impact echoes.
Your influence doesn’t stop with them—it continues through them.
History is full of “ones” who became links in a Gospel chain reaction. D.L. Moody came to Christ because of a faithful Sunday school teacher. Billy Graham heard the call through a simple revival meeting. Even the Apostle Paul, once a persecutor of the church, was transformed after an encounter with Jesus and a faithful man named Ananias, who obeyed God's command to reach him (Acts 9).
You never know who you’re reaching. It could be the next world changer—or simply someone precious to God who needs hope today.
Don’t worry about how far your message will go. Just be faithful to share it.
Because it only takes one.
